Researchers from the worlds' top universities are on their way to Lund. Out of the 1,327 applicants to the Lund University Programme for Global Excellence, 45 was approved and two are coming to the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology.
Both assistant professors and visiting ones were recruited. Erik Renström, Vice Chancellor of Lund University, says in a separate interview with Sanna Trygg that this proves not only the universitys' good name, but the notoriety of the whole of Sweden. "Besides the University’s good reputation, many regard Lund and Sweden as a model example of a well-functioning democracy with strong academic freedom and an open and equal society,” he says (2026-02-02).
