The department has received the sad news that Eva Österberg, Professor Emerita of History, passed away in her home home on 10th of November.
Eva Österberg defended her thesis in Lund in 1971 and was appointed Professor of History at Lund University in 1987. A winner of several prestigious prizes and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, she was a central figure in the field of historical studies. Among her most influential and appreciated accomplishments was the record number of PhD students she supervised.
